The following organizations were instrumental in advocating for Assembly Constitutional Amendment 8 (ACA 8) and helping to pass the amendment in both houses of the California State Legislature. ACA 8 received unanimous support in the Assembly (68-0) and overwhelming approval in the Senate (33-3).

Once ACA 8 was approved by the Legislature, it became a ballot measure, which is a proposed amendment to the state constitution that must be decided by the voters.
